I have recently moved to my new flat in Germany, and I cannot manage to get past the tariff selection for a DSL connection with Telekom. The problem is that when I enter my address details, the website leaves me with no choice but to select a fiber connection, since “fiber is available at my location and will be set up in February.” The website also allows me to book a DSL connection in the meantime until the fiber connection is finally available.
However, I asked my landlord, and he said that fiber is not even available in my flat and is only available for some other flats in the building. Therefore, I am a little bit confused and do not know exactly how I can simply book a DSL connection. I tried calling customer service, but I could not reach support, mainly due to my poor German.

the support staff in this community ("teamies") will need to call you about this, so it's be if you enter a phone number for them to call you at into your profile. Ideally, also put a time window during which you are available for a call into the free text field and (if available) also your customer ID.

If fiber optics are available, Telekom will stop offering VDSL. You should sign up for fiber optics if it is already available.
If others in the building already have fiber, the owner has agreed to it.
This means that Telekom will install fiber in your apartment and you will then be able to use the fiber tariff.

@hadsh77 I am sure we can sort it out. It sounds to me like so far only those apartments have been connected to fiber optics for which the tenant has ordered a fiber optic connection. So, if you place the order via the website, the transitional tariff will be activated first, and then it will be determined how your apartment can be connected to fiber optics.
