Trenne mich jeden Tag - Speedport W925V
Hallo,
I have Telekom DSL MagentaZuhause XL and #Speedport W925V working in my flat since Nov. 2021.
I have other post trying to set up DSL Modem (Bridge Mode), but it did work for me yet.
So I start a new post, discussing about why I want to switch to DSL Modem mode -- because I got interrupted by the network everyday for my home-office!
1. with all default setting, things were worse, my Airplay device cannot set up
2. I splitted 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, and things are a little better
3. however, in daily office work (at home), I can be disconnected by the network, for 6 seconds and then came back automatically -- this happens often, like >1/hour
4. even further, I got totally lost internet sometime, and then it didn't recover automatically, this didn't happen much, I think only twice in last 3 months -- this I can live with
Can support team help me here, please? What can be the reason and what to do.
(I am still learning German language, I can read German post and if there is telephone support, in English would be perfect)
Thank you!

Without knowing what causes the issues you're seeing, it's hard to recommend a solution.
Personally, I have been very happy with various AVM Fritz!Box routers. I have used themd since I first got broadband in my first appartment in 2005.
A Fritz!Box 7530 will probably do everything you need. I suppose you didn't use the ISDN-port on the W925v, if you want that feature you'd need the Fritz!Box 7590 instead.
Of course I cannot guarantee that this will adress all of the issues you reported.

Hi, Lejupp,
thanks for the information.
Exactly I would like to find out firstly, if possible, the reason of my situation and then decide.
But if I follow your advice, do you mean using the Fritz!Box router as the main router replacing W925V, or do you mean using it combined with W925V functioning under DSL modem?

The Fritz!Box 7530 is pretty much a one-box solution. It has it's own built-in DSL modem, just like the W925v, so there is no need to put it behind the W925v or any other external modem.
If you are very keen on keeping the Netgear router, you could probably get an external VDSL modem with VLAN capability, like the DrayTek Vigor 167. This modem can be configured to apply the VLAN 7 tagging, so the router no longer needs to do that.
