New Telekom Contract, Cannot Receive SMS Messages
11 months ago
Hello,
I activated my new SIM card yesterday for my new contract with Telekom, and I am unable to receive SMS messages. My husband has an android phone, and I have an iPhone, and I am not able to receive texts from him.
When dialing ‘*223#’, I get an error message saying ‘Error performing request, unknown error’.
Can someone please help me with this?

Can someone please help me with this?
Apple, hopefully -> If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
First thing to check would be if you have MMS switched on.
Good luck!

Hi @McKenzie McMullan
Are you sure it was SMS and not RCS Chat?
This doesn't work on the iPhone.

Hey there @McKenzie McMullan,
thanks for reaching out to us. I'm sorry that something is not working well.
What about the suggested help by @teezeh and @→Mataimaki← ?
Are you sure that we're talking about SMS?
Regards

Hello,
Unfortunately nothing in the instructions from Apple have worked, and I’m unfamiliar with RCS chat…however I just came from a different provider and was using this same phone and phone number just days ago and we were able to text just fine.

But have you also used the new SIM?
Are you directly with Telekom or with Freenet?

All right, @McKenzie McMullan
I wrote a new ticket for our technicians.
Don't be surprised ... it could be, that they will contact you also by phone.
Kind regards

Thank you for your patience, @McKenzie McMullan.
I received a call from the relevant team today. They informed me that everything is still fine on our end. Since you are able to receive our SMS messages and everything is running smoothly, the current theory is that the SMS is getting lost during the transmission from the American number to us.
Unfortunately, only your husband's provider can investigate where exactly the loss occurs between the American network and ours. We are unable to trace it as we do not receive any incoming messages. Could your husband ask his provider to check at which interface the SMS is getting stuck?
Kind regards
Caro

Sorry I guess I’m just not understanding how that could be the issue. I originally had a SIM card with ALDI TALK, and he was able to text me just fine. Also, his provider is T-Mobile so I cant understand how they would have issues with communication with Telekom.
I will ask him to check but I just don’t understand how moving from ALDI TALK to Telekom stopped him from being able to text me.
