Sudden signal and performance drop on Band 7 + N1 (5G NSA) since October

vor 3 Monaten

Hello Telekom Team,

I’m using a GL-X3000 Spitz AX router in Neu-Ulm. Earlier this year, my connection on B7 + B20 + N1 ( 5G NSA) was excellent, stable signal, great latency, and speeds around 150–250 Mbps. B3 + B3 (+B8) + N1 is okay-ish, but compared to that first config, it feels less stable and has lower bandwidth, reaching about 90–150 Mbps.

Since August 2025, Band 7 and Band 20 have become noticeably weaker, even though my antenna position hasn’t changed. From October, Band N1 ( 5G ) sometimes disappears completely, leaving only LTE .

Speed is still decent (around 50–100 Mbps ), but latency now feels less stable. I’ve attached screenshots showing the difference between May and now:

-May 25th, 2025:

 -Octobe 18th, 2025:

Could you please check if there have been any maintenance works or changes on the Telekom towers around Neu-Ulm that might explain this drop?

Thank you very much!

Sang Nguyen

      Hello @Vinent,

I'm sorry to read that. Have you noticed this behavior with other devices as well, and are there certain times when the speed is reduced?

      Kind regards

      Malte

      Hello @Malte M. ,

I’m only using the GL-X3000 Spitz AX router, my phone stays on mobile data most of the time. The speed decrease happens in general, not just at certain hours.

Normally, at midnight, the speed should be over 100 Mbps, sometimes even 150–200 Mbps before. But now, with the same band (mainly Band 7), I usually get only around 50–70 Mbps at the same time. Interestingly, during peak hours, it can sometimes be faster than at midnight.

I could still switch to Band 3, which works fine, but the Band 7 experience used to be much better — both speed and latency were excellent before August.

      Best regards,

      Sang Nguyen

      @Vinent,

      I see.

Certain fluctuations in the network are actually normal, especially under the circumstances described.
Unfortunately, we do not offer support for the router you mentioned. I'm sorry.
You could try setting up the router in a different location and checking the connection there again.

      Kind regards

      Malte
