analog fax an speedport w925v anschliessen

I have a speedport w925v router on which I have sinus 302i base with 5 handsets attached, the base is connected to the isdn port but the telephone has been changed to voip. My printer is an     hp officejet 6970 pro which has an analog fax which I would like to attach to my router. The instructions for the printer indicate I need a special adapter to attach an analog printer to  a router configured with a digital voip telephone. is true? If so, what do I need to do- and how. If not how do I attach the fax- if it is at all possible.

On the back of your Speedport w925v router, there are 2 analog ports, which u can use for your officejet.

      Just plug it in.
Then take a device such as a smartphone, tablet or pc (which is connected with your WiFi) and logon your Router (should be http://speedport.ip or 192.168.2.1).
You'll need your configuration password, normally it should be on the back/bottom of the Speedport.

In the configuration menu there's an "telephony" option where you can configure a number(MSN) to the port on which the fax is plugged in.

here you are the fax cable has the same end - that connected to the router has an additional tae adapter placed on the hp supplied cable. the fax cable end attached to the printer is attached to the1-line port as directed by the hp representative. who also said he couldn´t help me any further- I had to conntact a telekom rep- still no answer after almost 2 weeks.

so i'll guess your configuration on the officejet itself is wrong or the adapter causes the trouble.

is it possible to get an other cable, which isn't in need of this adapter?

that´s the cable that was with the printer and the instructions state that one should NOT use another. In the user manual one is told to contact the network provider for an adapter for a digital voip connection. unfortunately Deutsche Telekom doesn´t seem to have an interest in talking to me about this matter and hp says they´re not responcible for helping me- I  should contact my network provider.

      Hello @josephcoyle,

      welcome to our community.

Have you tried connecting your printer via LAN-cable with the speedport? This way you should be able to send a fax message directly from your PC.

      Regards,
      Bernd M.

I can´t use the cable that came with the printer without aTAE adaptor. That´s why I´m attempting to use it. THe cable looks like an isdn cable on both ends- although (according to HP) the fax is analog.
