Site note accessible
Dear community,
I need your help!
I am unable to access a website from the Telekom home internet connection. The website is https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/ . The error is "Site cannot be reached" /DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.
I flushed the DNS on my MacBook and my windows laptop. I rebooted my router and notebooks. Nothing worked.
If I use another internet connection e.g. Vodafone hotspot from my mobile, the website gets opened on the same devices.
I suspect something is wrong either with my router or a the network. What can be done to fix it ?
thanks!
Sandeep

I suspect that the India target site refuses Telekom fixed line IP addresses, a geo blocking.
S.th. that Telekom would not be able to fix.

That's not it, the DT DNS server can't resolve eportal.incometax.gov.in:
~$ nslookup eportal.incometax.gov.in
Server: 127.0.0.53
Address: 127.0.0.53#53
** server can't find eportal.incometax.gov.in: SERVFAIL
Other DNS servers like Google's are able to do that:
~$ nslookup eportal.incometax.gov.in 8.8.8.8
Server: 8.8.8.8
Address: 8.8.8.8#53
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: eportal.incometax.gov.in
Address: 43.239.61.11
Name: eportal.incometax.gov.in
Address: 43.239.61.139
Now as to why that is...I have no idea.
@shukla.sandeep Most routers allow the configuration of alternative DNS servers via their WebUI. Changing the DNS server in the router from "what the provider configures during connection setup" to "8.8.8.8" might help.

Also client OS allow that (Windows, MacOS) allow to enter a different DNS server.

I am unable to access a website from the Telekom home internet connection. The website is https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/
No problems here. I have configured my router to use the public DNS resolver from Quad9 (quad9.net).
Best wishes,
Thomas
