umzug/moving out and in

Hello Comunity,

I would like to ask how to move my internet service to a new apartment of mine.

Currently, I am using MagentaZuhause L Plan, with DSL and, I would like to continue using the same plan in my new apartment.

The thing is I am using DSL so if my understanding is correct, I need someone to deal with cables....am I right?

and I would like to know if I need to book two dates for dealing with moving out/in the internet of mine

I mean

one for closing the current DSL service in my old apartment,

one for re-opening back the DSL service in my new apartment.

I requested to transfer my internet to T.com 10days ago by email, but no answer back from them. (actually, I tried to call them in German once but my German sucks so I could not manage my call)

The moving date is coming soon like in 3 weeks and I am working from home, so the internet is really needed for my work.....

I have my own wifi device which I bought from T.com, so if I could use the internet when I plug the cable to the connector of my new place then it would be perfect though.....is it even possible?

Anyway, please teach me how to deal with DSL internet moving.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!!!!!!!!!!!

      Hello @zimso ,

      Thank you for the comment!

I actually checked this link and tried to manage it by myself but I really wonder if I really need to pay 70EURO for only moving out and in my internet service.

is this a common fee in Germany? or is there any way to reduce the amount of the fee?

Yes this is true - and the fee is the same as if you get a completely new connection.

The effort/cost behind that is also kind of comparable.

It is based on law/regulation - so even if you might think that it is high - it is in line with German law/regulation.

      No way around that.

Not sure what you want so say with that.

Is your current contract with Telekom or with a different provider?

By the way - chances for me calling a U.K. or U.S. provider in German and to have s.b. answering in German are a lot worse than for you talking/writing in Englich and getting in touch with s.b. responding in English.
