Upgrade MagentaZuhause XL from MagentaZuhause M

Hi,

 

Last Friday, a technician came to upgrade the connection from 50 MBit/s to 250 MBit/s. He gave me a call and unfortunately, I could not understand what he tried to tell me but I ultimately managed to ask if everything was okay and he confirmed it was. 

 

Unfortunately, I've been running speedtests through the classics "Speedtest.net, fast.com, etc."  and all agree: I'm still stuck at 50 MBit/s.

 

I'm using a router ASUS DSL-AC87VG which I know does not reach 250 MBit/s but it should at least reach the 200 MBit/s according to the specs on the datasheet. The computer I use for testing is connected using gigabit ethernet and I updated the connexion data using the letter I received from Telekom and restarted the modem/router a couple of times.

 

Does anybody know how long it takes for the upgrade to take effect? I thought I might need to wait until the first of the next month but that still doesn't seem to be the case and if I look at my account, it still says indicates that I have the MagentaZuhause M package. Do I need to wait until the next billing? Or do I have to do something?

 

Also, does anybody have the English hotline number? I tired calling 0800 3301080 but it automatically hangs up on me and I have no clue how to reach an agent when I call the 0800 3301000.

      OK I finally managed to get to someone who spoke English and the short answer is: They opened a new line instead of upgrading the existing one because I didn't want the TV package that I never watch.... Since It's now passed my renewal/cancellation time for my current contract, I can't get any of their offers but I'll get a cheaper price for 6 months and need to wait till next year to cancel the TV part.....
