DSL disconnects all the time

I have constant DSL drop-offs - same as many other users describe in their respective threads. One day all good, the other - fifteen drops in a couple of hours (had more than 30 in 4 hours just recently).

 

The hybrid DSL / LTE fallback that is supposed to switch to cellular when DSL drops, works about thirty percent of the time only with the remaining two thirds - connection reset cycles lasting about 3 minutes on average.

 

Wifi network is not available during a drop. Further, many devices (TV, streaming device, Google Home) need to be restarted after the router 'recovers' the DSL connection. Quite often even that doesn't help and a full reboot of the router along with all devices on the home network is required.

 

I had several Telekom technicians come to check the landline only to find it excellent. Different routers, cables, settings - to no avail. It appears Telekom is unable and, what is more important, unwilling to resolve issues. Or maybe it's just their notion of quality.

      The field service has corrected some errors on your connection.
      Has your router ever been exchanged?

      I can understand that you are unhappy.
      However, we are really trying to solve the problem with your connection.
      I was able to see the problems on your line in a measurement.
      Since the problem still exists, I would like to send you another technician.
      Is that okay with you?

      Please excuse my spoken English. 😅

       

      The technician will look at your line again on Monday between 8 am and 12 pm.
      Please let me know if your connection is stable again after that.
      Otherwise I would like to change the router.
      Until then, you can also test whether it improves when you remove the DSL cable. After that you are only connected via LTE .
