Teams Poor Quality Audio

Hello. I have a 100mbps connection and have a SpeedPort 4. I can connect to Microsoft Teams or Cisco WebEx and I can hear other participants. The problem is when I speak, they hear a mix of muffled or choppy sounds. In some cases, I can disconnect and reconnect to Teams, and my audio problems go away. Reconnecting to WebEx does not fix the issue.

Is there anything I can do to make the audio work the first time around on Teams and WebEx? Thanks in advance!

I have gone through this, but did not find it relevant. https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/microsoftteams/rooms/rooms-prep

      Hello @Gelöschter Nutzer
As you can see, the PC / laptop needs a certain amount of hardware to function smoothly. Such as 8GB RAM.
      See here: https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/microsoftteams/rooms/requirements

Hello. Thank you for your response. The laptop in question is an iCore 7 with 8 CPUs and has 64 GB of RAM. I have never had this issue until I started my Telekom service two months ago. I have used this laptop both in Germany and in the US without any issues with Teams audio in the past.

WLan. I don't currently have a way to connect directly to the modem/router.

      Hi @Gelöschter Nutzer,

your issues should not be related to Telekom or the Speedport Smart 4. Sounds more like a drivers issue on your PC. Do you use your Laptops built-in mics and speakers? If so, have you tried an (ideally Teams-certified) headset instead?

I have the Speedport Smart 4, too, and no systemic audio problems like the ones that you have described. I use Teams, Skype for Business and other web conferencing platforms either with a Plantronics / Poly headset or with a speakerphone soundbar in my Dell monitor.

      Best wishes,

      Thomas

This kind of problem sounds as my daily routine...

For finding out if it is the same problem please tell me if you use a headset or external sound system für your WebEx/Teams meeting?

I often have the problem that the audio source changes without mentionig to the laptop which lies under my desk and so the other participians can't hear me clear.

I only use the built-in mic in the laptop. Unfortunately I don't have an external mic at the moment.

Okay, then I'm struggeling with a different problem. Is the quality of the built-in mic okay when you're using a different application? A sound recorder for example?
