Recover eSIm when traveling

vor 3 Jahren

Hi there. I am traveling and had my iPhone repaired yesterday. When I restored my data from backup, the phone settings still shows my magenta eSim number, but next to it says “no SIM”.

I do not have access to the original paper with the QR code for the eSIM as I am traveling and may not be back for a few months. It is  important to me to have my number back. Can the community offer any advice?

I think the full device was replaced by apple when they did the repair, as my phone now has a new serial number.

thanks in advance for any advice.

You need a new QR-Code to enable the eSIM.

Thanks for your detailed answer. Unfortunately when I call  the international number you gave I get the message that the number is not connected. I am also unable to reach customer help via the contact form as they require an active German number for this method. I am still looking how I might get in touch with customer service to make a request for the eSIM.

As for identification, I did find my customer number through the Kundencentre, but Telekom probably doesn’t have my Bank details on record as I recharge through PayPal. Still, I do have my photo ID that I used to register the original sim, so I would hope we could still work it out once I manage to get in touch.

Any further advice on how to reach customer service from overseas without a German number would definitely Italy be appreciated.

      Hello @adsandmore

Unfortunately we really have a problem! I have no way of sending you the eSIM profile with the information provided. I cannot legitimize you as a contractual partner because there are no bank details, no alternative phone number or no e-mail address in the customer center. You actually have to go to a local shop with your ID. I really want to help but don't know how. The eSIM profile has not yet been deleted by Apple Support. Maybe you can ask Apple Support to transfer the old profile to your replacement device?

      Kind regards

O.k. so it is about a prepaid SIM.

      Hello @adsandmore,

as I see, some helpful advice were already given.

Are you able to log in to your "Kundencenter", so that you can reinstall your eSIM on your smartphone?

      Kind regards

      Malte M.
