I'm roaming in the US with roaming pass, but my internet is not 5G . My phone, samsung A52 5G , is of course a 5G device, and I try several ways including restarting the phone. None of them works. I'm in the 5G area fors sure. Please investigate.

Are u sure that you are in a AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon 5G Area?
Make sure the 5G setting is enabled within the mobile connection settings. (Also check if you have energy saving setting enabled)
There is nothing the telekom hilft team can do about it.

I'm in Washington DC area, that shouldn't be the coverage problem. I always get 5G in Germany, but not when I'm in the US. Of course I'm not on the energy saving mode.

5G comes in different frequency ranges/bands - so the initial question is which ones does your phone support and which ones are available in your US location, and do they match. For 5G NSA a matching LTE band is required. For 5G SA no such LTE band is required, however the phone might require proper settings for 5G SA (I do not know the possible settings of your phone)

I checked the T-mobile US website for 5G devices, and yes my phone (samsung a52 5g) is on the list.

Hello and welcome to our community, @cd1998 .
Thank you very much for your post and for sharing your concerns with us.
You have already received many helpful tips and suggestions.
Unfortunately, we have no influence on the availability of 5G at your location.
ou have also been informed about the different frequencies and the installed hardware.
But basically, in the USA, you can get 5G from providers like AT&T, T-Mobile US, and Verizon—depending on availability.
I hope this helps you a bit and that you still have a nice and relaxing stay in the States. 🤩
Kind regards
Caro

Either 4G or 4G +
That is OK, 4G + you can it interpreted as 5G Europe.
The EU released smartphones do not support all 5G frequencies in US.
By the way, no smartphone application really needs 5G SA.
