E-Mails gelöscht trotz Einstellung nie gelöscht

Trotz der Einstellung "nie löschen" für alle Systemordner sind innerhalb kurzer Zeit zwei Mal alle E-Mails im Eingangsordner verschwunden, während "gesendet" und "Papierkorb" nicht gelöscht werden. Keine Nutzung des E-Mail-Postfachs durch externe Geräte. Welche Erklärung gibt es dafür?
