Billion BIPAC 8900AX 2400 router - compatible with German Telekom broadband?

Hi,

I need a broadband connection in Germany.
Telekom allows the use of own routers and I have a Billion BIPAC 8900AX 2400 -
is this compatible with current German Telekom broadband ("MagentaZuhause XL max. 250 MBit/s")?

Thank you!

Datasheet says VDSL 2 only -> https://au.billion.com/upload/product/doc/BiPAC-8900AX-2400-Datasheet.pdf, so you need a new router.

      Best wishes,

      Thomas

Thank you. So I have 3 options:

      1. Keep Billion router + buy VOIP phone - would these two be suitable?
      • Grandstream GXP1625 HD IP PoE

      https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00VNMWRFK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_10?smid=A1AOD6NZ8T40S4&psc=1

      • Fanvil H2U Compact IP Phone

      https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B08NLPSQ72/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=A1AOD6NZ8T40S4&th=1

For two VOIP phones we would lose 2 LAN ports, or is there a way to split one port for two phones?

      2. Keep Billion router + buy adapter for two existing phones

      • VoIP Gateway Telefon 2 Ports Adapter SIP RJ45

      https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0CVBMYJ18/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3LWSP3MO0OGJI&psc=1

would only need 1 LAN port. I could keep 2 analogue phones (Philips M110W) and return it if it doesn't work.

      3. Replace router with new one - I'm not familiar with routers on the German market.

The integrated phone socket should be able to allow connection (via splitter) of 2 analog phones.

      • We need a reliable internet connection. I see some devices have problems...

      • We just need wired connections for 4x LAN. We never use wireless.

      • VDSL 2 is not important (would be nice as an option).

Not sure if all this is available in a cost-efficient device?

      Thanks a lot!

VDSL 2 is not important (would be nice as an option).

In Germany we use ALWAYS and only VDSL2

You may mix ist up with Vectoring 17a (up to 100 mbit/s) and supervectoring 35b ( up to 250 mbit/s)

From my point of view the router has to go - by specifications it should work - nothing is guaranteed

But yes you have the options mentioned

If you need more LAN  Ports you need a switch

Do you have a recommendation for a router?
