how do i setup FB 7590 in Telekom(Magenta Zuhause XL)

Hallo, i have another Problem after i got to know where Speed-Problem (125 Mbps instead of 250 Mbps) is.

I bought a Fritzbox 7590 second hand one. Now i dont know how do i setup Telekom-Internet.

Should i reset it before i connect it to Telekom or should i also use Speedport Smart Router along with FB 7590 ?

Because when i connect DSL-Cable and Power on the FB7590, WLAN-LED just blinks forever and when i press connect button, all the 3 LEDs blink for few seconds and nothing happens.

LAN to Computer Connection is not detecting the Router(FB7590) and WLAN is also not showing up. in WiFi search..

Any idea how i proceed further or have i bought a defective Device by any chance ??? i am not able to update the Firmware of the Router also...

Hope someone did go through this Problem... waiting for your Suggestions...

hi @manuingermany  yes its important to reset the box before you install it.

If you have resettet it, than connect it with the grey port (dsl port) an your TAE and wait till the power/Wlan lamp lights up permanently. Than you can conntect your pc or laptop an type 192.168.178.1 in the broswer an than you follow the instruction step by step.

for resetting you first have to connect the box via lan to your pc/laptop an then type 192.168.178.1 in the adress bar of your browser. than you can reset the box by clicking "PAssort vergessen" on the login/start screen of the fritzbox.

      Hello @manuingermany

      1. Please reset FRitzbox to factory settings.Call up the FRITZ!Box user interface. Enter the FRITZ!Box password from the bottom of the device and click "Login". If the Internet Connection Wizard does not start automatically, click on "Wizards" and then on "Set up Internet access".
      2. In the wizard, select "Telekom" from the drop-down list.
      3. In the "Telekom DSL connection" section, enable the "RECOMMENDED: Automatic setup of Internet access [...]" option.
      4. Click Next and follow the wizard's instructions.
      5. The FRITZ!Box now checks whether the internet connection can be established. The setup is complete when the message "The Internet connection check was successful" is displayed.

There is no need to press the connect button, only if you want to use WPS to connect a Wifi device.

If the Fritzbox is behaving strangely, then another possible solution is to connect a plain old telephone to the FON 1 connection and dial  #991*15901590*. Then wait approx. 3-5 Minutes and the Fritzbox will reboot with factory settings.

Hi, i cant able to login to 192.168.178.1 or fritz.box when i connect the Router to PC. Interestingly my PC is not detecting the Router... i dont know why. Is it because of Firewall ?

any Reset PIN in the Router like other Routers available in Fritzbox ???

Its making me go crazy now... the previous Owner hat Vodafone Internet it seems. Then i think i have to reset it, otherwise it wont work for me in Telekom.

Logging in to Fritzbox IP is an another Hurdle for me... should i try another PC with different Windows Software ??

Is there a Tool for resetting/updating the Firmware for FB ? will it work in my Situation ?

It didn't work on the same computer.  I had to use another PC.  Using the recovery tool from AVM I reset the router and set it up for Telekom.

The speed variation is too much. Is it like that our it is dependant on firmware version?  I am on latest firmware and default settings...

I heard there is a custom Linux firmware for FB 7590like freetz/freetz-ng.

Wenn i Flash these custom Linux images will it improve the download speed and the stability of the connection?  Anyone here tried it and what are their opinions?
