Mislead by shop employee, now can't terminate contract
8 days ago
In February I made the mistake of signing into a two year contract for home internet at a Telekom shop. The shop employee spoke a bit of English and I told him multiple times that I will be moving out in May and wanted a contract where I can cancel at any time. Now, I went to cancel and was told I cannot do anything for 2 years. The place I'm moving to already has wifi so it makes absolutely no sense to pay for something I'm not using. I am willing to pay a penalty to leave the contract. It's better than paying 22 months for a service I won't be using anyway. Is there a way to cancel the contract? I am very new to Germany and I really don't know where to get help with this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the pleasant call @khalid1996. As discussed, you will have a special termination right, but before I can proceed I will need the rental contract of the new location, or registration certificate. Please message me as, soon as you got the document. I wish you a wonderful week. Kind regards, Martin Bo.
