Optic fiber connection setup with Glasfaser Modem 2 and my own WiFi router

I have a fiber connection MagentaZuhause XXL via Glasfaser Modem 2 and I would like to use it with my own WiFi router instead if SpeedPort. My router is capable of PPPOE as well as other connection options and I wonder how do I get the details to set it up?

Can you tell us the name of the manufacturer and the typename or partno. of the router?

Most important for Telekom lines is to use PPPoE over VLAN7.

@OlehK the router needs to be set up for PPPoE over VLAN7.

You should receive (or already have received) a sheet with your PPPoE username and password for dial-in. New connections from Deutsche Telekom are preconfigured with a feature called "easy login", where the network will accept any username und password, no Matter if it is correct or not. Technically this is not a security issue because only your fiber modem is able to connect to your line, however you can enable credentials verification in the customer center by disabling Easy Login .

Is this a new line, or have you been using it before, just with a different router? If it's new, you will receive a link to a website for modem registration. Click the link and follow the instructions before you connect the modem for the first time.

@lejupp it’s a new connection and I set it up with the provided Speedport and it works just fine. I didn’t receive any PPPoE credentials, just an email from Telekom with a link to a wizard to go through modem setup and after that speedport just went plug and play with absolutely no any actions from my side. Should I request PPPoE credentials separately in this case? Or according to your message just put whatever and if it’s PPPoE over VLAN7 it should just work?
