Problem with Fiber Optic Internet Activation
vor 3 Monaten
Dear Telekom Team,
Today, a technician came to install my fiber optic internet. However, I am now encountering a problem with the activation. After the technician left, I received the "Einrichtung" email and SMS. Using the link you provided, I started the activation process and selected the following option:
"Ich habe ein separates Glasfaser-Modem, dann schließen Sie zwei Geräte an."
Next, I was asked for my router model. Since I have a TP-Link Archer AX55 AX3000 Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router, I selected "other router model".
Afterward, I was asked for the Modem-ID. I initially entered the MAC address of my router, which was accepted.
In the next step, I was asked for the Glasfaser-ID, and I entered the ID from my Glasfaser-Dose.
However, during the connection test, I encountered the error you can see in the attached image. My router is connected to the outlets via an ethernet cable, but there is no indication that a signal is coming from the Dose.
The Dose also has a fiber optic port, but I am unsure whether I need to connect it to the router. My router doesn’t have the appropriate input for the small fiber cable.
Could you please help me identify the issue? Is my fiber optic outlet even working?
I have attached the relevant images for your reference.
Thank you for your support.

You have to get a "Glasfaser Modem 2" or a fiber router.
You need a "translator" for the fibre optic signal to Ethernet in your case to connect it with the TP-Link.
Like shown here with a Fritzbox:

As in the attached image (Telekom Fibre Optic Modem 2)? Then do I need to connect the dose with this modem via that green headed thin fiber cable? Would that be sufficient?

You are missing the Glasfasermodem 2 . There you connect the fiber optic cable that you are holding in your hand in the photo and then activate your fiber optic connection with the modem ID and the fiber optic ID. Then you connect the LAN port to the WAN port of your Asus router. There you have to set up a PPPoE connection with the access data that you received by post. For VLAN please use VLAN ID 7.

Yes, the shown image has (from left to right) a power supply cord, a ethernet cable for the router and a fiber optic cable which goes into the fiber optic socket.

Hello, today I received the Telekom Glasfaser Modem 2, and I completed the setup via the Einrichtungsassistent without any issues. After the process, I received both an email and an SMS, confirming that the configuration of my fiber connection was complete. The SMS specifically mentioned:
"Die Konfiguration Ihres Glasfaseranschlusses ist abgeschlossen. Bitte verbinden Sie nun Ihren Router mit dem Glasfaser-Modem. Details zur Verkabelung können Sie dem zum Glasfaser-Modem beigefügten Anschalthinweis oder den zu Ihrem Router mitgelieferten Unterlagen entnehmen."
You may also see the e-mail that I received attached.
Following this, I connected my TP-Link Archer AX55 AX3000 Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router to the modem. However, even though the modem's light is solid green, the router displays an orange light.
Then, I reset the modem and restarted the router, but the issue persisted. Following that, I removed the router and connected the modem directly to my computer via an ethernet cable. But my computer didn't receive a valid IP address from the modem, so I manually set a static IP with the following settings:
IP Address: 192.168.100.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.100.1
I was able to access the modem's interface, and I took screenshots of the status page.
On the Status Page, the Link Status under LAN interface shows 0 Mbit/s, which seems to indicate no active connection.
Then I used the "Problem Handling" option to restart the modem from the interface, but this didn't resolve the issue either.
Does the 0 Mbit/s Link Status indicate a problem with the fiber optic socket or the modem itself?
Could this issue be related to ISP or is it more likely a hardware issue with the modem or fiber optic connection?
Should I try any further steps, or is it best to contact Telekom support at this point?
I would appreciate any guidance or troubleshooting tips.
Thank you for your support!
