Playstation 5 with Speedport Smart 4
Hi,
I have just bought a PS5 and I have constant connection problems and slow speeds with the Speedport Smart 4.
When there's a connection, the speed is really slow and I get disconnected quite often.
I have tried opening ports, setting DNS, moving the PS5 close to the Speedport, none of those helped.
I also tried connecting to another wifi network (neighbour's) and though the router was really far the download and upload speeds were 3-4x higher (it's not a Speedport router).
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hallo @tmbrgr ,
can you change the WiFi settings or WPA2 only if it is different at the moment? And then restart the router.
Another option might be to turn off one of the WLANs so either have 2.4 or 5 GHz only.
Can you try with a LAN cable?
Best wishes,

Hello @Coole Katze ,
I changed it to WPA2 and it seems to make things better, but I'll need to test it more thoroughly in the next days. I will get back to you with the result.
The LAN cable is not really an option as the Speedport is exactly at the other end of the apartment. (I brought the PS5 once there with a smaller monitor to see if the LAN could help, which it did, but moving it there would not be feasible.)
Anyway, I'll do some downloads and online plays to see if the connection is still dropping or not, but the speed is much better, so thank you for the suggestion!
I'll let you know how things go by the end of the week!
