Port activation for game server
vor 3 Jahren
Hello,
I apologize that I'm useing english, but in german my grammar not the best yet.
So I wanted to activate a port for my server ( for example now for Minecraft). At the first time (about 2 years ago) I had succes with a port opening (router type was Speedport Smart with Tarif M) but after a time my friends couldn't join to my server. I looked after the issue and port was closed without any info. Only one thing was changed is a yellow square with a exclamation mark in it.
Since then I can't open any port.
We changed the Tarif (because other reason) with new router(Speedport Smart 4 also I reinstalled my PC a few days ago) but that yellow square is still there and I can't open any port too.
Could somebody tell me wht can cause this issue?
Thanks in advance

Hello @Robaatoo ,
the yellow square with an exclamation mark in it means only that there is a port activation active.
It should be work so.
I do not running a Minecraft Server, so can only try to help.
Is DESKTOP-UKJNPJC thr right PC with the Server running on it?
I think the (Windows) Firewall on the PC must be open too for this Port.
Perhaps it is necessary that you configure the Speedport so, that DESKTOP-UKJNPJC gets always the same IP.
After this configuration i will prefer to delete the port activation an activate the port activation again.
I do not know if this is really necessary, but give it a try.
Greetings

Hello Malte,
thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately our router belong to my Mother's account and so the customer number too.
I'm not sure if I write that number to my profile will it be valid.
Best regards
Robert

Hi @Robaatoo,
that would be okay, but we'd have to talk to your mother first to make sure she agrees that you get the informations from us.
So it would be best if you fill in a phone number in your profile where we can reach you both.
Kind regards Inga Kristina J.
