Speedport Smart 3 und Speed Home Wifi mit netzwerkkabel verbinden
5 years ago
Hello,
I have a Speedport Smart but I need to expand my WiFi signal to other places in my house. For this, I am considering swapping my Speedport Smart for a Speedport Smart 3 and install 1 or 2 Speed Home Wifi.
However, one of the rooms are far away and I have already an ethernet cable installed. So what I would like to do is:
1) Replace my current router for a Speedport Smart 3 and use it as the Mesh base - located in the groundfloor
2) Install a Speed Home Wifi in the room far away and connect it to the Smart 3 router with an ethernet cable - room far away from the router
3) Install a second Speed Home Wifi in another room (closer to the Speedport 3), connecting them via Wifi. - room closer to the router
All information I saw is about connecting the Mesh points via Wifi.
Could you please help to understand if is possible to connect the Speed Home Wifi to the router via Ethernet? And have a second one connected via Wifi? And still have a mesh network?
Many thanks!
Julio

Hello @ribeirodiniz
yes it is possible to connect a SpeedHomeWifi via Lan to the base, after having paired it with Wlan / WPS .
