Telekom DSL connection issue - No Telekom box in the house???

Hello everyone, I don't speak German well but wanted to ask.
I had internet from Telekom for over 3 months without any issue. I have the Speedport smart 4 and for the past 2 weeks the DSL connection keeps breaking. The technician was here and replaced the socket but we told me he needs to replace the entire cable connection to the Telekom box.
The issue is that I have contacted the landlord and we looked thorough the entire basement and there's no Telekom box in the house. Only old UnityMedia that's now Vodafone and from there the cables are routed to the DSL sockets.
I have technician coming on Friday to fix the connection and I was asked to find the Telekom box, but it is not there... what now? how to resolve this? There must be some kind of connection or routing established as I have the internet.
It is weird situation and Customer Service were unable to help me.
Did any of you had the same experience?
Btw. my Fax won't work even when configured, is there an extra tariff I need to purchase from Telekom?

Hey there @user_a8e961,
it could also be the case that the Telekom Box ( APL for short) is installed outside the house, somewhere on the building's wall. If there's no locked room in the basement, where it could be, there shouldn't be a problem for the technician to find it and assist you at the appointment. :)
