Which tariff exactly do you use?
The tariffs X´MagentaMobil EINS and MagentaMobil XL include 45GB data volume in EU roaming. (incl. GB and CH)

You don't need to activate anything, except roaming on your smartphone if necessary. 56GB should be enough for Maps, Facebook, WhatsApp and co.
