Two handy cannot ping

I have two iphones, both with internet access via data traffic, and they pass the ipv6 test.However, the two phones cannot ping each other.Is it because ipv6 is not a public IP, or is it a firewall issue?

This is probably due to Apple, i.e. the iPhone.
But why should they be able to ping each other?
You could do that with certain apps.
