Can Not Open 192.168.2.1 (speedport.ip)
vor 2 Jahren
Hello,
I have a weird problem with my SpeedPort Smart 4 Type A modem/router. I used to be able to connect to the router configuration page through the URL speedport.ip or directly using 192.168.2.1, but recently, I can not access it anymore.
I have searched for some answers on this forum, but it didn't solve the issue.
My internet works fine, all the devices are connected to the router, and everything works fine except accessing the router. Both wifi and LED statuses are on in green without blinking.
I checked the firmware from the modem panel, and it is using the latest version (at this time) 010139.3.0.002.2 (10/2022).
I am using Mac and every time I open it using a browser (I tried multiple browsers and the result is the same), it says: cannot connect to the server 192.168.2.1.
I also tried to connect using the command line and here's the result. It looks like the web server that serves the configuration page dies.
And my connection configuration is:
But if I restart the router, I can open the configuration page once, then it suddenly stops working. I think there's something wrong with the firmware, but I'm not sure.
I don't really want to reset the modem, because I will lose my router configuration. Is there any way to solve this issue without doing a factory reset? And also, I don't want to restart the modem every time I want to access the configuration page.
Thanks for the help!

Hello @matriphe,
welcome to our community.
By now, we have no information about a problem with the newest software. It might be an issue of the device or the browser you're using. Did you only try it with one device (for example a notebook) or with different ones (smartphone, tablet ...)?
Kind regards Inga Kristina J.

Hello @matriphe,
thank you very much for the helpful informations. I made a note in the ticket so that our colleagues in the backoffice will have a look at them.
In the log I can see that the router sometimes loses the WAN connection. That's when it's blinking. But I can see no problem of the ONT . So please check if the cable between the router and the ONT fits correctly.
Anyway, this has no influence on the access to the configuration page.
This must have another reason. As soon as we get an answer to our ticket, we'll tell you.
Kind regards and have a great start to the new year!

Hello @Inga Kristina J.,
Thank you for updating the issue!
The router is connected to the ONT using the existing CAT-5 cable embedded inside my apartment wall. The ONT is placed separately in the communication box, and I haven't touched it since the last Telekom Technician installed it.
I noticed this blinking orange recently happened a couple of times. I don't think I've experienced this before.
I'm happy you answered my curiosity about the blinking LED status. I couldn't find the answer, because the manual only says "Ihr Speedport hat ein Problem festgestellt. Bitte Taste drücken, um Information/Meldung zu lessen." and I don't see any message just like I showed you in the video.
I'm also glad that the blinking LED status is not correlated with the config page. I'm assuming the web server that runs the config page crashed and couldn't recover.
Is there any way I could get the log or info from the router, so maybe I could help to debug the issue?
Once again, thank you for your help. I wish you and the Telekom team a Happy New Year as well!

Hello @matriphe,
the router log I mentioned was the "System-Meldungen" you posted here. So you already got it. The loss of the WAN connection might indicate that the cable is not firmly plugged into the WAN port of the router.
Kind regards Inga Kristina J.
