Magentamobil Speedbox XL 5g download speed problem
vor 4 Jahren
Dear customers support,
I have just received my MagentaMobil speedbox xl package.
After (multiple) guarantees from your support staff that I have fantastic signal and that I will have the maximum download speed in the area where I live, which is 325 mb/s, I only have between 70 mb/s to 130 mb/s. Which is unacceptable for 5G .
My Huawei router is right next to the window. I live on the 4th floor, I used the Huawei AI life app to find the best position and it gave me a 90/100 score.
On the app and on my browser it says that the connection is 4g+. When I test the speed it switches to 4g/5g. When I stop testing, the 5G light turns off after a while and if I log out from the browser the connection switches back to either LTE or 4g+. When I try to set the connection manually a 5G telekom connection is not displayed. Only LTE .
As I said. This is absolutely unacceptable for 5G connection and it is unacceptable that the members of your staff guaranteed to me that I will have full speed, just so that they could sell me an overpriced piece of equipment, that cannot even reach the full capability of LTE (which is 300 mb/s) let alone show what 5G can do.
So here I am asking for your support in solving this issue. If I do not get this problem resolved, I am afraid that I will cancel the contract and return the item.

You cannot force a 5G Signal as the current implementation of 5G (NSA) requires an LTE Cell as it's main Cell.
70-140Mbit/s via 5G n1 is perfectly fine. The 300+Mbit/s is only achieveable when you are the only user in all used nodes. This e.g. will likely get possible at like 2am.
I don't know what the Telekom employee said to you, maybe it was something like "You will get up to 300Mbit/s" which would be totally fine.
Be aware that 5G operates on different frequencies, higher frequencies like n78 3600Mhz in big cities have a lot of capacity with gigabit speeds while lower ones like n1 2100MHz deliver less speed but with a way way better range.

I'm sorry for the late response. If you want me to, I'll inform our technique about it again.
I'll just need your serial number of the Speedbox, the location where you placed the box and time stamps where you lost the connection or couldn't get 5G .
Please provide this information via private message here.
Regards

No ist's not.
5G is shared Medium. Therefore all Users in the sector are sharing a max of 325mbit/s
As many users are online the speed will sink.
Nobody dann guarantee full speed with a shared medium
The switch from 4G to 5G and back is also correct.
The base frequency is currently always 4G , because VOIP is not even specified for 5G .
The Router will switch as soon the required speed drops blow a defined line.
