Hello,
I’m currently using a Speedport Smart 4 rented from Telekom. Since I’m switching my tariff to fiber, I’m considering buying the router myself on Amazon — either the Glasfaser Router 2 or another Speedport Smart 4.
My question is:
Is it easy to set up these new devices with my fiber connection? Is there anything specific I should know beforehand? Can I simply
unplug the cables from the old router and connect them to the new one?

@mertkolay : Do you mean the Smart 4 Plus or the Glasfaser-Modem 2?
I would recommend that you use the fibre optic modem 2 (Glasfaser-Modem 2) and then the previous Smart 4 (rented or purchased).
With the fibre optic modem 2, you can switch to another router that does not have an integrated fibre optic modem more quickly if necessary.

As you mentioned I will use both of them tigether. I will buy Glasfaser-Modem 2 and currently I have rented Smart 4 but I want to send it back and then buy a new Smart 4 via amazon since I have some vouchers. My question is can I make the connection myself with those two new devices?
@mertkolay : Yes, you can use both together on a Telekom fibre optic connection without any problems. The Wi-Fi data ( SSID , key) you have used so far will also be automatically transferred to the new router you have purchased. And you can plug the existing Ethernet cables into the yellow(!) sockets as before.

Can I only use the speedport 7?
@mertkolay : Yes, you can also use the S7, which has an integrated fibre optic modem. But as I already wrote, if you want to switch to another router at some point that doesn't have a fibre optic modem, you'll have to get an additional one.
My personal recommendation is to avoid the Speedport 7 for the time being, as it still has many issues, especially when it comes to configuration.
