DSL internet is not stable and also keeps disconnecting
vor 2 Jahren
Hello,
There is a problem with your internet connection. My contract name is 'Magenta Home L', I am using DSL for connection, and I am using TP-LINK VR300, a VDSL modem router, for Wi-Fi. I only use 5GHz to avoid interference.
The problem is that my internet connection is very unstable, it works perfectly for a few days, but it disconnects very often for several days in a row, followed by complete disconnections lasting for hours. This issue can be temporarily resolved by resetting the router, using the magenta app, or physically removing the TAE -RJ45 cable from the wall and then plugging it back in. However, it becomes unstable within 1-2 hours, and becomes very unstable, repeating connection and disconnection more than 10 times within 1-2 minutes, and then completely disconnects again.
By the way, the router is not the cause of the problem. I've been using the internet status tracker since I first encountered this problem and it always says 'Wi-Fi/Ethernet OK'. And the description on the admin page for the router (192.168.0.1) says the problem is ' ISP ', suggesting that the problem is with the line and not the connection after the line.
I had this problem a month or two ago, but I just put up with it and it went away for a while. But now it's happening again and needs to be fixed as soon as possible. I've been reading some of the threads on this forum and there are many cases similar to my current situation. So I thought this forum might help me overcome this issue once and for all.
In short, Internet instability / prolonged disconnection occurs. I've reset the router including factory reset and everything using the magenta app for broadband resets/disconnect users etc, manually changed DNS settings, changed channels on my 5GHz WLAN, even removing the cable from the wall and putting it back again. And nothing really solved the lingering problem. I hope this issue is resolved as soon as possible.
Best regards

Thank you for your time @Nandyala,
it's good to know that a colleague from the hotline already took care of replacing your router.
Since the connection itself looks perfectly fine and the router restarted itself all the time, a replacement should really help in your case.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance after receiving the new router.
Kind regards
Louisa

Hi, I am experiencing similar issues with my internet connection. I subscribed to Telekom's MagentaZuhause XL plan last July and am using the Speedport ProPlus router. Unfortunately, the connection has been unstable, disconnecting once every 2-3 days. As I rely on the internet for work, these frequent disruptions are causing significant inconvenience.
Is there a solution to this problem that I can follow as well?

Hello and welcome to the community @user_dnvvm9,
we all know here how important a functioning Internet is
Is it about the Internet in general or do the crashes only occur in the WLAN?
I assume that you have already rebooted the router after you have completely disconnected it from the power supply for at least 20 minutes.
If not, please do it once. What does it look like then?
Kind regards
Kathrin
