Falsely added into telekom contract by Rangers

vor einem Jahr

Hello

A lady visited us on 27/10/2023 claiming that she is from Telekom staff came into my house and said that Telekom is changing street internet wire to optic fiber and all vodafone customers will be moved to telekom. She asked my IBAN NUMBER and my wife gave and asked her to sign on IPAD. My wife signed doc stating "ihr auftrag für telefonie, internet und fernsehen über vertriebspartner"

After, they have left, when I googled it I found that they are scammers providing false/misleading information are convincing  to sign the contract with Telekom. I wonder if I am scammed by them. I went to local store and  they told to mail widerruf@telekom.de and later I called on hotline and they are asking for customer number, which I don't have.

I don't want to go ahead with this shift to Telekom and need to cancel if contract has already started.  Could someone help asap please. Thanks in advance!!

    Hey there,

they‘re not scammers but methods are sometimes questionable. As stated you’ve the right to revoke any contract made at the door within two weeks.

As a quality measure you’ll receive a call afterwards confirming details, kindly state you want to cancel. In case you receive an order confirmation write your Widerruf afterwards (the deadline will be calculated based on the  issue of confirmation).

There’s no need to panic. 😎

I received the call but missed it. Now, how do I get confirmation that contract has not started? since I don't have kunden number

Door to door contracts have a mandatory two week period during which you can cancel. Simply call the hotline and tell them about the issue.

I would also get the contract number from them and suggest that you push charges at the nearest police station for commercial fraud against an unknown person.

A court can then compell Deutsche Telekom and Ranger Media to give up the employees name for prosecution.

They are coming to your door under false pretense. In my old apartment, they constantly told me that we now have fiber and everything is faster and that I need a new contract. They are lying, they are trying to get you to sign anything so they can make money. They are indeed scammers and I hope Kiran goes ahead with pushing charges so they finally face some consequences for their actions.

@Gelöschter Nutzer, No, they're not scammers per se because this way of distribution is a legitimate one. But as everywhere some people trying to take advantage of a system which can be easily exploited. Especially the German Telecom implemented some standards to reduce the risk of unsatisfied customers:

@Kiran18, I am wondering why your wife signed anything. Living in Germany means you understand basics so it should have been clear that this is an "auftrag für telefonie, internet und fernsehen über vertriebspartner" and nothing else. If you don't understand then don't sign. And even there's stated that this contract was done by a "Vertriebspartner" (distribution agent) and not Telekom staff. Maybe you misunderstood "im Auftrag der Telekom" with "Mitarbeiter der Telekom".

German law protects you from unwanted businesses like this. And because you have rights no one is trying to take advantage of you.

I'm not a fan of such distribution method but you have the option to stop tis directly at the door as well as not to sign.

They will try to call you again. As long as you do not confirm over phone no order is created in the system.

You still can write at the given e-mail stating details as best as possible (name, address, date/time of signature, doorstep business, IBAN) if you feel better. You will receive a receipt of your mail. Afterwards it may take some time until it is processed but as long as you have the receipt you're on the good side.

    Hello @Kiran18,

as @andiling already wrote, you can cancel the contract by phone if you are called back.

If that doesn't work, then wait for the confirmation mail. With the contract confirmation, you will also receive the customer number.

When you receive this number, I can also cancel the contract for you. But we have to wait for that.

Please fill out your profile data, so we can reach you. You can do that here.

    Kind regards

    Belana M.
