Netgear Nighthawk DSL settings
Hello everyone,
Just moved to Germany with my Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router. I have a DSL connection from Telekom at my apartment.
I set up PPPoE connection using this article. https://telekomhilft.telekom.de/t5/Telefonie-Internet/PPPOE-Einwahl-ueber-einen-Router-herstellen/ta-p/3654990
And see attached PPPoE image.
Then I set up everything else using this article: IPTV -services" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://kb.netgear.com/000059623/How-do-I-configure-my-Nighthawk-router-to-support-Deutsche-Telekom-Internet-and- IPTV -services
And see attached images.
And I am still offline.

Hi @chedos , i think your Router has no integrated DSL-Modem.
You have to connect the WAN-Port (Ethernet) to an external Modem.

Your Router has no VDSL Modem. How did you connect it to the DSL port in the first place? Or do you have an FTTH connection?

And what about this article? IPTV -services" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://kb.netgear.com/000059623/How-do-I-configure-my-Nighthawk-router-to-support-Deutsche-Telekom-Internet-and- IPTV -services
Seems it's possible? Or it's for another version of the Netgear router?

your Router does Support PPPoE login to Telekom landlines but it does not have a VDSL modem built in.
You can use a Speedport i.e. Smart3 as Modem in Bridge Mode. I would not recommend to purchase an Entry or a W724V. Or you choose a VDSL Modem from Draytek or Zyxel.

Thank you very much for all your answers. Bought Speedport smart 2 plugged in and it works, I didn't even set it up.

Hello,
a highly related question. I have a VDSL modem integrated in a HUAWEI router, but I'm a little lost with several of the settings. Could somebody more able then myself, perhaps help me what to choose for Telekom Magenta M? (its 50MBit, so I hope VDSL2 is the right protocol)
Connection type: PPP, IP, oder bridge?
NAT type: NAPT, Full clone NAT, oder disable?
VPI/VCI?
Link Mode PPOA, EoA oder IpoA?
Service type: UBR without PCR, UBR with PCR, CBR, Non-realtime VBR, realtime VBR?
Encapsulation mode: VCMUX, or LLC?
PPP: CHAP, or PAP?
802.1p? on or off?
VLAN ID?
Not sure if all of these relate to VDSL, as the modem can also do DSL and Ethernet bridging- any help welcome!
