New contract for moving address instead of keeping old contract / Neuer Vertrag für Umzugsadresse statt alten Vertrag zu behalten

Hi Team,

I'm looking for some suggestions and support to deal with my problem. For moving into new apartment, I contacted the customer support to move my connection (MagentaZuhause L mit MagentaTV, Online-Vorteil -5€) to new address. The support member checked the availability in my new address and said the TV is not available, whether we can go ahead with just the internet, which I'm fine with. So he changed the tariff (MagentaZuhause L)and on March 29,  the connection was activated in the new address.

Now, when I check the monthly bill, I see the following,

- The contract is not extension of old contract, instead it's a complete new contract with another 2 year term instead of old remaining term.

- I no longer see online-vorteil discount

When i contacted the support via chat, he mentioned that I actually had the chance to cancel my contract (which the support team did not mention to me at all earlier) and since the 14 days is passed, they can't do anything now.

Did anyone went through the same issue, and what do you suggest?

I don't want to lose my discount and I don't want to have a contract period of another 2 years. I felt cheated here, and if possible, I'd really want to cancel my contract with Telekom.

That is o.k. from a legal point of view.

Your old contract could not be continued in the new address and you decided to go for a tariff downgrade contract change. Telekom is not obliged to offer that, but of course Telekom is also interested to keep you as customer. So Telekom offers such a downgrade, but under Telekom conditions. Which you do not like.

Your other option would have been to say "no, sorry, I am not interested in a contract change, I will rather go for an early termination of the contract in the old address - meaning that you would have been obliged to pay the contract in the old address up to the end of June.

Strange. If it's not a MagentaZuhause L Regio then I do not understand the issue with MagentaTV - why it was not possible to have that unchanged in the new address.

I got scolded in this forum before for saying this, but I'll do it again anyways: Maybe the sales rep was trying to sell you into a new contract. I'd call again and ask for an "Umzug nach TKG " (recolcation according to the telecommunications act). This only works if your current tarrif, with all the same options you currently have, is available in the new location. But if it works, you get to keep the tarrif as is with all existing bonuses and without a new minimum term of contract.

      Hello @tk20

I had a look at the order. Because the tariff got changed you've a new contract term of 24 months and that's also the reason you lost the discount you had before. Because the discount was caused by the order of your old tariff.
To make sure that everything is correct with your order you always get the confirmation about it after the order is done. You got the confirmation within 15 minutes after the order was done. (5th of MArch 2021) You also have right of withdrawal within 14 days after you got the order confirmation. The problem is that the 14 days were already over (withdraw ended on 19th of March 2021) on the day you did this posting (13th of April 2021). - I'm not able to withdraw the order from 5th of March 2021 today. I'm really sorry. Is there anything else I can help you with?

      Regards Karsten L.
