SpeedPort Pro losing IPv4 and disconecting Wi-Fi devices

vor 4 Jahren

Hello,

since a couple of weeks my SpeedPort Pro does not connect to internet for websites/DNS that don't work with IPv6. This happens in the morning when the router is starting (I shut down the router automatically with a smart plug each night and start it in the morning). When restart the router from the button then everything comes to normal.

When it doesn't work in the morning and I check the IPv4 in the router settings then it is empty (see attachment screenshot).

I attach also the router logs when it doesn't work and the second log (1) after restart when it already works and IPv4 is set.

Another problem is that the router kicks my laptop out from WI-FI and then re-adds back it in several seconds. In the logs it just says that device log out and log in.

Edit: attaching log (2) after kick from WIFI of my laptop and re-connect after several seconds .
Edit 2:

Firmware-Version 120133.4.0.022.3
Hardware-Version 04

Please advise,
Thank you.

      Hello @toleabivol

have you already reset the router to factory settings and set it up again without saving the settings ?

      Greats

      Hello @Waage1969 ,

      thank you for the reply.

I did a factory reset yesterday in the morning and all was good. Then after the shut down in the night - in the morning there was the same problem : no IPv4. Attaching the logs.

      Hello
      @toleabivol
      that's not so good.
There is no planned shutdown during the night.
What do you mean by that?
I will inform a team about this who will then get in touch here.

      by the way:
please don´t post your personal infomation / phone number in her (attachmend)
I have delete it in your posting

      Hello @toleabivol,

as you describe it, I think it is very likely that the smart plug you are using to shut down and restart the router causes this error.

Is there a reason why you don't just let it turned on over night? The power consumption of the router is very low, if that's the point.

      Kind regards Inga Kristina J.

      Hello,

@Waage1969 I shut it down with a smart plug in the night and start it in the morning.

@Inga Kristina J. Thanks for your reply. I agree that this might be a cause but I do not see why would this happen. It is just like a hard restart of the router - is there a reason why the router would loose IPv4 during a hard restart (remove from power and added to power) ? It's not only power consumption (that is also a good point though , saves ~13EUR/year) but also digital well-being - nobody in the house can use internet late in the night (I have 3 kids) and the router does not pollute with wifi and LTE frequencies (I know the router can shut down wifi on a scheduled base and it is good but I can't do that with LTE ). I also wanted to play around with the smart stuff to be honest ^^ .

      Hello @toleabivol,

I could imagine that it makes a difference if you really plug the Speedport off the socket, or if it's still connected by the cable and switched off automatically. But I'm no technician, that's just speculating.

Did you try to plug it off the socket in the night? Has the error occourred then, too?

      Kind regards Inga Kristina J.
