I have a telekom technician visit soon. It's a WG and we currently have a telekom connection but that contract ends this month. And I am getting a new contract for the WG.
Currently we have the router in the corridor where the DSL port has internet or is activated. I also have a DSL port in my room where I want to keep this new contract router at. I tried this old router in the room, but it seems like it didn't connect to the internet with this DSL port. Will the technician help me to activate this DSL port in my room?

You must first check
Is the Port a standalone Port or is it the second serial connetion of the corridor.

@buzzftw unfortunately the answer is, it depends.
As the other user wrote the socket in your room could be connected in sequence with the one in the hallway. Nowadays if you have more than one TAE all but one are disconnected because modern IP connections are now to have issues with multiple TAEs and can't really take advantage of multiple sockets that was more for older ISDN connection and those were phased out a couple of years ago. As with every topic there are always nuances and edge cases.
Your landlord is responsible for the cable connections within the house we are only interested in our signal reaching the house. How they want to distribute the connection inside the house is largely up to them.
