Teminate contract early due to moving in with my boyfriend

Hi!

I need help cause I am trying to terminate my Telekom contract earlier has I am leaving my flat.

I am staying in germany but moving in my boyfriend appartment who already has an internet contract.

I already did the process online and receive an email telling that my contract can't terminate before the july 2026 !

I went to a telekom store to ask for help and they did the process again telling me it was possible to termniate the contract within one month .... I received again a confirmation email after my visit telling me my contract will terminate only on july 2026.

I am not living in my flat since 3 weeks now; the internet box is packed ready to be sent back. Please help me in terminating my contract the earliest possible.

Its not possible except your boyfriend has a internet contract with telekom.

welcome to the Telekom hilft Community.

You have to wait for the Telekom Team here. If your boyfriend has a Telekom internet plan there might be a chance for early termination of your contract. I will let the Telekom Team know that you need support in English.

Special termination due to a move within Germany is not possible. If the contract can be moved 1:1 to the other address, it must also be moved. The only possibility would be if your friend also has a Telekom connection. Then we would cancel the smaller contract and the larger one would continue. If this is also not the case, then the contract can only be terminated at the end of the term.

It's a pity that we couldn't come to an agreement. As your current contract can be moved 1:1 to the new address and your friend's contract is with a different provider, there is unfortunately no special right of termination.

The only option is for you to move the contract to the new address or to cancel the connection at the end of the contract term. Unfortunately, we have no other option.

You call me providing 0 solution so it was difficult to come to an agreement !

Understand you can provide internet in my boyfriend flat but he has a different provider with Vodafine Kabel internet and also a binding contract as this is the standard in germany !

So either way you (internet providers) are asking people to pay for 2 contracts while they only have 1 flat ... is it not something wrong with that ?! is not abusive contract terms ?

Again I am open to solution but you provided none :

-> cancellation for a fee > you told me it is not possible

-> transferring my contract to new tenant of my flat ? not sure if this is possible but you did not offer as a possible solution

-> making a commercial gesture for me and my boyfriend in his flat as an incitive to change internet provider ??? > also did not come to your mind

I am sorry for sharing my frustration here but I don't feel treated fairly as a customer.

For data protection reasons, you cannot hand over your contract to the next tenant 🙏🏽 I have shown you the options that are possible 🙏🏽

Unfortunately, I can't offer you anything else. My hands are tied.
