Wired link-speed is lower than WiFi speed (100 Mbps vs 1000Mbps)
vor 11 Stunden
Hi.
I recently got a Telekom Glasfaser connection which is working really well. My setup has the "Glasfaser Modem 2" and my own router which supports the proper protocols. And my router is correctly set up as I am getting 600Mbps (link speed 1000Mbps) over the WiFi. But when I connect the in-wall ethernet cable to my computer the link speed drops to 100Mbps.
First of all, I already know what the issue is. The in-wall ethernet cable (or the ports) is defective. To confirm this, I have tried a different cable and connected my laptop to the router, this gives me 1000Mbps link. As soon as I switch to the in-wall cable, the link goes to 100Mbps again. The whole setup needs some extra cables: router <--> in-wall port and computer <--> in-wall port. Each of these cables were also tested separately and all of them can do 1000Mbps link.
The real problem is that the building management is not ready to accept my analysis and they need a confirmation from the ISP that the router port and the cables are correctly working for a Gigabit connection.
What are my options here? Is it possible to get a confirmation like this quickly (specially without a technician appointment, since that would take some time)?
