Porting out number

Hi Team,
I am trying to port out my telekom number to freenet O2. I raise the request to cancel and port out yesterday. Today I do not have any network on my phone but when I raise request via freenet I get the mail with following statement.

Rufnummernmitnahme abgelehnt: Kontaktieren Sie Ihren bisherigen Anbieter
Ihr bisheriger Mobilfunkanbieter hat uns mitgeteilt, dass die Rahmenbedingungen für eine Mitnahme Ihrer Rufnummer ************ noch nicht erfüllt sind.

      Hi @vipulkumar

You should invest time in porting.
From what they say, it sounds like a prepaid contract.
Try porting the number to O2 again today.

Sounds like you had a prepaid contract and that you did not mention in your cancellation that you want to port out the number. That leads to an immediate termination of the contract.

In such a case you may NOT order an immediate porting of the number at your new provider, as that is a different porting case. You need to tell your new provider that the number has to be ported to the end of the contract. You will be about two weeks without your number.

You had the possibilities to get a "smooth" porting, downtime max. one day - but probably to language problems you haven't used one of them, as I suspect.

Yes, I used the online service and there it had a link to cancel the contract. I did that without knowing the consequences. It will be really bad if I do not have my number for 2 weeks. Can you please suggest any alternative and help me please

Good to know: I am just another customer.

If you did the cancellation together with the order to get the remaining prepaid account paid to your bank account then I do not see a chance.

If you did "only" the cancellation then you might try to handle the issue with the hotline, to get your SIM / contract reactivated, do use the 0800 number for that

Do not count on that the person at the other end is able / is willing to speak English.

Then end the call and call again, in hope of that there will be an English speaking agent.

That would be the fast approach.

You can of course also wait that a Teamie will get in touch with you - today or one of these days. For that purpose your forum profile needs to give an alterate phone number so that you can be contacted by the Teamie for authentication purposes.

      Hi @muc80337_2 ,

Thank you so much for your help.
I just called the hotline and was able to get my number reactivated. The lady on the phone was super super helpful and resolved the issue in under 2 minutes.

So in this case, number reactivated - wait e.g. until tomorrow and call again, let them set "Opt-In" - and then you can order the new provider to do an "immediate porting" / "sofortige Portierung" (or how they name it).

Following that you should get a date communicated when the porting will take place (typically within two weeks).

Once the porting is done your Telekom prepaid will get a new phone number, and you can proceed with an immediate cancellation.

That's the way I would do it.

      The other way would be:

new cancellation however mentioning that porting is required - and order at the new provider a porting to the end of a contract. In that case no "Opt-In" is required.

Unfortunately , in the evening Telekom deactivated the number again. Now I am back where I started. Deactivated number and Freenet sending same mail. Called the hotline, now they are saying we will only activate my number if I say I will not port out to another provider.

I guess that in this case your cancellation was in fact with ordering the payment of the prepaid account value to your bank account.

      Hello @vipulkumar

the tariff should now work again.

The cancellation of the tariff is now scheduled for April 20, 2024.

Consent to porting your phone number is valid until May 6, 2024.

You can now contact your new provider again and ask them to port your phone number.

      Best regards,
      Elvira H.
