MR 401 B will not initialize

I apologize for using English, but my German language skills are not adequate now.

I have a Media Receiver 401B that will not initialize beyond the 20% point.  The green check mark is next to "Verbindungen werden hergestellt." but the other two items are greyed out.  After a while, the screen goes black and has "Netzwerkfehler" and F102030.  I know the network connection through the Speedport W724V is good because I connected the LAN cable for the MR401 to a laptop and verified the connection speed (72Mbps download, 42Mbps upload) with speedtest.net.  I tried the "power off - power on" three times, but the problem continues.  I recycled the power on the Speedport two times, and the problem continues.

For the past four hours, I let the MR401 try to initialize, and the cycle continues.  I see the red MagentaTV display, then the "Ihr Media Receiver startet..." screen that stops at 20%, and then the Netzwerkfehler screen.  My Telekom contract is the MagentaZuhause L - MagentaTV Basic and I lease the MR401 and Speedport W724V.

Any assistance in how to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.

That's ok, and thank you for the precise and helpful description.

There should two leds beneath/beside  the LAN plug, what do they show?

Might there be a fixed IP-Adrees in the router (it should be DHCP)

I will wait for the Team.  Hopefully, the solution will be simple and won't require sending the Speedport back since it works perfectly with every other device connected to it, either with a cable or through WiFi.  I checked the Speedport firmware, and it is up to date.

      Hello @mkreinhop,

just to be sure: The LAN cable must have at least a CAT 5e standard. CAT 6 would be even better. Did you test such a cable?

Before we can exchange the Media Receiver, it's obligatory to make a factory reset first, to see if this fixes the problem.

Here is how you do it:

Please tell us the result after it, then we can decide if we make an exchange.

      Kind regards Inga Kristina J.

      Hello Inga,

You can't see it, but there are tears of joy streaming from my face.  😃

The reset worked, and I was not doing it correctly.  When I reset the MR401 before, I did not hold the reset button while turning on the power (my poor German skills).  I never saw the Download because I was doing it wrong.

The MR401 is now working perfectly and I am very grateful to @Thunder99 , @falk2010 , and you for your patience and diligence in helping me working through the problems I was having.

      Best regards,

      Mike
