First of all, I'll have to write this in English, so apologies for it.
Been using the service for already 3 months, and I think it's great. No buffering, top quality. I even got the Magenta Stick, but there are things that are actually putting me down. I see a lot of bugs that make the service sometimes useless.
I'll break it down by platform:
Magenta TV Stick (So Basically Android TV)
- When watching TV, then going to the Youtube app or Netflix, then pressing again the App button on the remote to go back to live TV, gets very unresponsive. Eventually will load the background audio, but reboot itselft Shortly (The Telekom bootscreen) but with the audio playing in the background.
- Volume control isn't consistent. For TV Service is fine, but for Youtube, Disney among others is a hit and miss. At times it works and shows the volume on Screen, sometimes doesn't show the volume but you can tell it goes up and down, and sometimes does nothing (Most of the times actually)
- Secondary audio settings. I think is pretty stupid and pointless to have Audio and Subtitles settings if the channel by default goes back to German. For Example, Discovery Channel. General settings are Set to English when available, yet every time I have to change it manually. This wouldn't be a problem IF the app would remember my settings, but it does. If I change to another channel and go back, it's German again.
- Why do we have a Subtitles setting, if NOT available. Not sure why, but Zattoo, Sky, and others are able to stream the subtitles. What's the limitation for Magenta? Is it the same for Fixed service?
- Parental control: I get that many people have kids at home, and that's fine, but I live alone, and having to enter the PIN everytime is just plain annoying. Why don't you allow to override it altogether? At the end of the day I'd be the one taking responsability if minors are watching inapropiate content. (Not my case, like I said I live alone)
FireTV:
- App is really bad optimised. Slow, crashing most of the time or freezing my FTV 4K.
- Channel list isn't consistent. I'm using my Favorite list and CNN for example would load as channel 128, sometimes channel 99.
- No zapping available. This makes it extremely slow, since I have to go and wait for each channel to load, as opposite as the MagentaStick.
- Some channels just won't work. Deluxe Music, and most of the paid channels are useless. Plays for 3 or 5 seconds, then the Magenta Background, then play again, and is the same. If I try to change the channel it either becomes unresponsive and I have to kill the app or it just freezes the device and I have to perform a manual reboot (Unplug the power cable)
iOS
- It randomly logs me out when watching TV using Airplay
- Refuses to play some channels. It just reboot itself (The app)
So far this is what I've gather.

Irgendwann wird der Hintergrundton geladen, aber er wird kurzzeitig neu gestartet (der Bildschirm der Telekom bootet), wobei der Ton im Hintergrund abgespielt wird.
- Die Lautstärkeregelung ist nicht konsistent. Für TV ist der Dienst in Ordnung, aber für Youtube ist unter anderem Disney ein Hit und Miss. Manchmal funktioniert es und zeigt die Lautstärke auf dem Bildschirm an, manchmal wird die Lautstärke nicht angezeigt, aber man merkt, dass sie hoch und runter geht und manchmal nichts tut (meistens sogar)
- Sekundäre Audio-Einstellungen. Ich finde es ziemlich dumm und sinnlos, Audio- und Untertitel-Einstellungen zu haben, wenn der Kanal standardmäßig wieder auf Deutsch eingestellt ist. Zum Beispiel Discovery Channel. Die allgemeinen Einstellungen sind auf Englisch eingestellt, wenn verfügbar, aber jedes Mal, wenn ich sie manuell ändern muss. Das wäre kein Problem, WENN die App sich meine Einstellungen merken würde, aber sie tut es. Wenn ich zu einem anderen Kanal wechsle und zurückkehre, ist sie wieder auf Deutsch.
- Warum haben wir eine Einstellung für Untertitel, wenn sie NICHT verfügbar ist. Ich weiß nicht warum, aber Zattoo, Sky und andere können die Untertitel streamen. Was ist die Einschränkung für Magenta? Ist es dasselbe für Fixed Service?
- Elterliche Kontrolle: Ich verstehe, dass viele Leute Kinder zu Hause haben, und das ist in Ordnung, aber ich lebe allein, und es ist einfach nur ärgerlich, jedes Mal die PIN eingeben zu müssen. Warum erlauben Sie nicht, sie ganz außer Kraft zu setzen? Letzten Endes wäre ich derjenige, der die Verantwortung dafür übernimmt, wenn Minderjährige inapropiate Inhalte sehen. (Nicht mein Fall, wie gesagt, ich lebe allein)
FireTV:
- App ist wirklich schlecht optimiert. Langsam, stürzt die meiste Zeit ab oder friert meinen FTV 4K ein.
- Die Kanalliste ist nicht konsistent. Ich benutze meine Favoritenliste und CNN würde z.B. als Kanal 128, manchmal Kanal 99 laden.
- Kein Zapping verfügbar. Das macht es extrem langsam, da ich auf jeden Kanal warten muss, bis er geladen ist, ganz im Gegensatz zum MagentaStick.
- Einige Kanäle funktionieren einfach nicht. Deluxe-Musik, und die meisten kostenpflichtigen Kanäle sind nutzlos. Spielt 3 oder 5 Sekunden lang, dann den Magenta-Hintergrund, dann noch einmal, und es ist dasselbe. Wenn ich versuche, den Kanal zu wechseln, reagiert er entweder nicht mehr, und ich muss die App beenden, oder er friert das Gerät einfach ein und ich muss einen manuellen Neustart durchführen (Netzkabel ausstecken).
iOS
- Es meldet mich nach dem Zufallsprinzip ab, wenn ich mit Airplay fersehe
- Weigert sich, einige Kanäle abzuspielen. Es startet sich einfach selbst neu (Die App)

I've forwarded the reports for the Magenta TV Stick to my colleagues from the technical department.
I will give you a feedback on that, after I receive an answer from them.
To do the same with the Fire-TV Stick issues / bug-reporting I would need to know a bit more about the device you are using.
A screenshot from the Device info page would be perfect.
You can send me the screenshot via private messaging, for data protection reasons.
Another, rather obvious, question: did you reinstall the app on the Fire TV Stick / deleted the Cache ?
Regarding the IOS issues: which specific channels don't work?

sorry as this is irrelevent to your question but I am a potential Magenta TV customer, may i ask you how you experience the providers/ channels as an English speaker. I speak semi fluently german, and plan to watch mostly German TV but would like sometimes English subtitles (not dubbed) and maybe the occasionally english speaking show/ movie (also not dubbed) . Are you happy with it?
