Both my internet and phone signal are extremely poor

I recently got a new telekom sim card but I'm really struggling with it. I live in the city (Dusseldorf) and I need the internet connection for work (which is why I chose to have unlimited data) but very seldom does it work for more than 20 minutes in a row and as soon as I walk into a building I no longer have signal. I usually have 1 or 2 bars. I tried to contact customer service but I don't speak German yet and those who could speak English couldn't help me. I really don't know what to do.

Maybe you want to cross check with other people that have a Telekom contract, what their phone says about the reception level.

What phone model do you have, was it intended for the EU market?

If the phone does not support all availble/required frequencies then you might suffer from bad reception.

I wonder if it's a flawed sim card. Would a telekom store be able to help with it?

They can swap out the SIM card for you and activate the new card on the spot. I seriously doubt however if it will make any difference wrt the issue you're seeing.

Just to bese sure: You do get 4G / LTE or 5G on the display, it is not running on 2G, right?

I guess that they should be able to help you both with respect to providing you with a new SIM card - and to check the iPhone/the iPhone settings - if it is an original Telekom shop.

Your mentioned 12 Pro Max should normally be fully o.k.

Thank you for your message, @GiulianoL.

You've already gotten a lot of great tips.

You have written in your profile that you would like to be contacted by email, but we will not be able to avoid a phone call this way.

Unless you go straight to a shop and get a new SIM there.

    Kind regards
