Can my flatmates take over the contract

Hello, I singed the Magenta L Young contract over 4 months now. However I am moving out of the country. I do not want to terminate the contract, I just want to provide a different bank account number so that my flatmates can keep paying. How can that be done?

Thank you Fröhlich

      @noacarba

      https://www.telekom.de/hilfe/vertrag-rechnung/rechnung/bezahlen/bankverbindung-aendern?samChecked=true

      There it says:

"You can easily change the bank details stored in your landline and mobile phone contract for future direct debits.

To do this, go to your customer center in the "My personal data" area or use the MeinMagenta app.

If you would like us to change the bank details for you, please use our landline or mobile contact forms."

@noacarba while @ Geralt von Riva has described how you can do this, I think that in the not so far future there will be trouble.

E.g. the roommate that gives his bank data moves out, he cannot do changes, you are still the contract partner for Telekom...

If you move abroad then you can terminate the contract within a one months time frame (you need to prove this). This would be the clean solution for you. And your roommates can order a new contract. Drawback: there will be a service interruption of several days for your roommates.

(There are other providers that are more open to taking over an existing contract by a different person, hence Telekom is for some cases not the bests option).

if I terminate the contract, that will mean that the discounts we got until now could be made paid retroactively, right?

Yes, if you explicitly request a move to TKG .
This can be done via the shop, a Teamie , or the hotline.
If they apply for the move normally, the contract begins anew.

      Hi @noacarba,

I would not recommend to simply change the bank details. As, you will still be legally the contract holder and for all intents and purposes liable as such.

I would recommend that you terminate your contract and your flatmate starts a new one in their name.

I will gladly explain your options in details. Just let me know when you are available for a short call.

I think there is no such discount offered by Telekom directly.

If you have ordered the Telekom contract with e.g. check24 or ... and if they promise s.th. on top of what Telekom is offering for the initial phase, then you need to see with that company what happens.
