Connection problems playing online with Guild Wars 2

I have the MagentaHomeXL contract with a Speedport W 925V router. I use my connection to play online at Guild Wars 2, and very often (specially in the evening) the online connection starts cutting off every 30-60 seconds, kicking me out of the server. It is OK for browsing the internet, but very frustrating for online gaming.

I did a traceroute, and looks like after the router, all the pakets are lost. (I attach a screenshot of the traceroute)

@OriolFMThe Problem is the Router, exchange it for a Fritzbox 7590 or Speedprort  Smart 3.

It is not suiable for online games!

I already filled up the customer information.

I've been testing the issue and only happens in the evening (usually after 19:00 or 19:30). Morning and early afternoon is fine, which makes me think it's not a router problem, but rather network bottleneck issues.

I have the full log file from my computer, if you need it.

      Hi @OriolFM,

      okay, we'll try again tomorrow.

To check if the router is the problem, do you have the opportunity to borrow a router from a friend for a test? If so, that would be great, then we can definitely see if the Speedport causes this effect or not.

      Kind regards Inga Kristina J.

@Inga Kristina J. I don't have another router, but as I said, in the morning, or during the night at very late hours, the problem does not happen.

It is likely that if it was a router configuration problem or faulty hardware, it would happen all the time, I think.

      Hi @OriolFM,

I'm a little confused: Did Khaled already call you?

Yes, I agree that it's not sure that the Speedport causes the problem. It's just the information the traceroute gives that suggests a connection.

If you make more traceroutes, do you always get the same result?

      Kind regards Inga Kristina J.

@OriolFM According to the system you are using the Speedport W 925 V. I would recommend a different router to you. That model has reported issues with online gaming.

      Kind regards
      Sören G.

I've been very busy for a few weeks and didn't have too much time to follow up on this, but the problem is still the same, even worse at times, and even though @Khaled A. mentioned someone might contact me regarding the router, I've had no one calling me or contacting me in any other way. Traceroutes look still very similar when the problems are up.

The other day I tried to do some streaming via Twitch of one of my drawing sessions (just upload, no download), and the link was cut several times in less than one hour.

It looks like the connection isn't stable, no matter if I'm using one game in particular or some other software. I've also noticed buffering problems when watching Disney+ or Amazon Prime video.

This is getting really serious, and I need a solution, because the reason I chose an expensive monthly rate is not to have any bandwidth issues.

      @OriolFM,

thank you for the spontaneous call.
I just sent out a new router which hopefully solves the issue.
Please give me feedback on whether or not it's actually improving anything.

      Kind regards.
      Nico B.
