Contract cancellation - mislead by the salesman

Hello. The salesman came here about 6 monts ago with the information, that there is going to be fiber optic cable in the house. He was very persuasive and he convinced me, that the switch from my current internet provider is mandatory. Only now I learned that it was not. Therefore I would like to cancel my order. My connection is not even active yet, it will be activated on 14.04.2026. Would you please somehow help me with that? Thank you

      you can cancel the contract within 14 days after receiving the order confirmation. 

      Why do you wish to not use a fiber connection?

      Well, because I do not need it at the moment and I thought it was mandatory to sing it to keep the internet at all :(

      It is much better tho. It costs less, has better resistance and it is faster.

      That is not wrong tho it will not happen next year but after everyone had a chance to switch in your neighborhood

      I trust you :) It is just that I was tricked into it and I am perfectly happy with my current provider.  The only reason why I did it that is because I thought it is mandatory for everyone.  When the time comes and I will actualy need it, I will be more than happy to switch. I was digging in yesterday and the switch from my current provider has not been done. Again, the guy promised me flawless execution. So now I have another thing to worry about, that I do not need in the first place :) You see my point? And sadly, my german language knowledge is pretty poor. That is why I am trying my luck here.

      Thank you so much for your post in our community. 🙏 If you signed a contract at your front door, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. After that, cancellation is no longer possible, which is why we can’t cancel your order after 6 months.

      Hey Timur, 

      so you are saying me that your sales rep can screw me over and there is nothing that can be done? I find it hard to believe.  The switch from my current provider was not mandatory as he suggested, now I even find out that the transfer from my current provider had not been done although I was promissed nothing but perfection along the way. Where there is a will there is a way. So please, what ways are there? :)

      @PavelN So you want to switch to a Telekom fiber tariff, but not with a other tariff without fiber for the meantime fiber is not avialable, right?

      Hi, to expand on the topic, I can see that first payment has been deducted from my account. Cudos to that. I was just wondering, can I at least get a router so I can use my tarif? (another "no worries sir, it is fully automatic"  from your sale rep that went out of the window.  Thank you  :)

      As it turns out the change of provider was successful. Your current Fritzbox7590 is suitable for your connection. Since you are renting the 7590 from your former provider we will talk about an alternative after your vacation.
