I have a bit of an issue with Telekom due to relocation. I am moving to a new address.

I have an existing contract for Festnetz (Magenta Zuhause L) at my current address. This is still in the minimum contract duration of 24 months which ends in August 2026.

I asked for moving the existing contract and service to my new address and Telekom customer service informed that the landline service is not available at my new address. I was informed of this both by call and by email that the service cannot be provided. Instead, there is a fiber optic (Glasfaser) connection available at my new address.

I asked for special termination ( TKG § 60) as the same service under the same conditions cannot be provided at my new address. I did this by informing the customer service and also filling this form here: https://www.telekom.de/kontakt/e-mail-kontakt/festnetz/kuendigung

I asked for termination at the earliest possible date which it said on the form as 1 month from the date of Telekom receiving notification. I thought this would be 1 month from me informing them so in January 2026.

I received confirmation of cancellation however with the termination date as August 2026. This is not what I wanted.

Everytime I talk to Telekom customer service I keep getting a sales pitch for Glasfaser with a new contract of another 24 months. What are my options at this point? I understand that if Telekom is not able to provide the same service, I should have a right to cancel my contract. Is there anything I am missing at this point?

I would really appreciate any tips or suggestions on how to handle this please.
