Prepaid 5G Annual Tariff Contract Cancellation

Dear Telekom,

I have submitted an application to cancel and port my phone number to another provider. The cancellation date given to me is December 29th, 2023.

This is wrong, I want my current contract to end when it expires. This is December 31, 2023. Please change my cancellation date to December 31, 2023 and confirm.

If you would like to speak to me, please arrange for an English speaking agent to call me on my phone. Vodafone offers 100GB of data for 12 months with an annual 5G prepaid top-up of EUR 99. Why is Telekom so silent?

After 3 years I feel bad to leave Telekom... I would have preferred to stay.

The order for porting is given to the other operator. If you have done so the date of porting is agreed between the new one and the old one (here: Telekom).

You cannot change that date. There are blackout dates for porting a number that are not used by operators, I guess your Dec 31st is one of these.

On the other hand the date when porting takes place is not necessarily the date when the contract is ending. But for that you typically need to order the porting in the appropirate way as foreseen by German telecommunication law, which in other words would mean to activate "Opt-In" for your Telekom contract and to order at the new provider to do an "immediate" porting.

Looking at December 31st the topic is done, you cannot change that any more.

Apart from that... come on, two days...

Vodafone offers 100GB of data for 12 months

Vodafone offering was until recently 50 GByte of data for 12 months, in a special marketing action they now offer 100 GByte.

Telekom offering is 48 plus at least 6 GByte of data for 12 months. (at least 12*500 Mybte)

Possibly Telekom will react and increase the data amount as well - possibly not.

With the Vodafone offering you do not have a monthly data budget, so possibly after one month you have a remaining data budget of 0 GByte for the upcoming 11 months.

I foresee big capacity problems in the Vodafone network in the near future due to the fact that they take over millions of customers from the o2 network in a short time frame in 2024.

Moreover from own experience Vodafone prepaid support is a pure joke.

Maybe you will come back and tell us in one year from now nice stories about your Vodafone experience. Maybe not.

Thank you for your message, @Mahesh_Krishna. Fröhlich

I found your message from Check24 and I will now provide you with some information and tips. 1) Your contract ends on December 29th. Please inform your new provider about this and let them know that you need a porting at the end of the contract term. Since we won't be able to do this by December 29th, we will continue to provide you with service until the porting to your new provider can be completed. This is expected to happen in week 1 or week 2.

    2) If you want to receive the remaining balance, please fill out the linked form. Otherwise, it will not be refunded.

    Do these information help you?

    Kind regards

    Hello @Carolin L.

    Thanks for your message.

If I decide to stay with Telekom and want to cancel the porting request what is the procedure?

Or is it already too late to backout ?

    Thanks

    Hello @Mahesh_Krishna,

The cancellation of the porting must be received by Telekom no later than 2 working days before the start of the switching lead time - a total of 7 working days before the porting date. Fröhlich

    Kind Regards
