[English] Relocating to a new place where telekom Festnetz is not available

Hello,

I will be moving to a new place end of Feb-2022 and I have already checked to see if Telekom is available at the new place. Unfortunately, there isn't a service available from Telekom at the new place.

I have already contacted the customer care via online chat about this and they have asked me to send a letter to Telekom about the notice. However, after searching in the forum I realised that I may need to talk to customer care over the phone to initiate the transfer request first.

I have been trying to get in touch with an english speaking person over the phone without luck. Is it possible to get a direct line (if there is any) for english speaking customer care or can I get a call back to my phone ?

FYI: I need to settle this ASAP in order to have enough time for the giving the notice.

Starting December 1st 2021 you can cancel such a contract within a month period (so the three months period will no more be applicable, as the telecommunication law sees a change on December 1st)

So the "asap" is not so urgent any more...

I need to be a bit more specific.

That applies to your situation that you want to relocate and Telekom cannot offer you to use the existing contract in the new location.

But the statement in a general way is also true if the contract has already seen its first 24-month period, no relocation needs to be involved then. True for both fixed and mobile contracts.

There are quite some other improvements for customers that December 1st 2021 will bring with the changed telecommunication law.

Thats right and also my contract has is more than 24months. So, I may be eligible for that 1 month instead of 3 months.

I will wait for a Teamie response on this.

Thanks very much for your heads up on the new legal changes.

I cannot comment on the hotline - but I know that there are Teamies here in the forum who dare to speak English.

Please note the times of day when you may be contacted during the weekend and on week days, so that such a Teamie might get in touch with you during the next days.

The online chat staff can also set the process. Perhaps the colleague has already done so, in which case the statement about sending the re-registration would be correct.

I highly doubt it has happened in my case. There was no discussion about checking for availability from the customer care side during my chat.

The team can take a look at it and possibly give the green light. Fröhlich

Das war dem TE doch klar.

Habt Ihr telefoniert? Ich hatte es so verstanden, dass der Anschluss auf ca. Ende Februar 2022 gekündigt werden soll unter Bezugnahme aufs TKG und die Umzugsregelung
