Future glass fibre connection

vor 3 Stunden

E-On have the contract for installing the last section of glass fibre to houses in our area. I currently have a Telekom Magenta XL DSL connection, the 24 month contract is ending next month. I do not especially want to have internet from E-On based on the reviews I've seen. But they say that if I don't then in a couple of years when other providers are allowed to sell glass fibre services, I will need to pay about 500 Euros for the connection. This seems like an argument intended to persuade me but I would be surprised if Telekom would charge such a fee in future. Anyone got any thoughts or insight in this issue?

There's no point in looking ahead what future conditions for fibre plans will be like. Telekom is already charging up to 800 Euro for setting up a fiber connection under certain conditions.

Make up your mind what you need today and decide. Getting connected to fiber free by E-On is a strong point and if you're not happy with them, you may always go back to Telekom.
