Glassfaser - MagentaZuhause XXL - packet loss
1 day ago
Hi,
I have a problem that started about a week ago. I can't use some Ukrainian resources due to packet loss on one (as I can see) or several hosts on the route to the required host. For example: ukrsibbank.com
Currently, it's about 50% packet loss on host buca-b3-link.ip.twelve99.net, but earlier it was kiev-b3-link.ip.twelve99.net, but every time it's twelve99.net. I discovered its Arelion network and tried to contact them directly, but they said I must contact my ISP . As there is no access to any e-mail support or contact form where I can report such issues, I decided to ask here.
See attached screenshots.

What can Telekom possibly do about a packet loss somewhere along the way to Ukraine in another network? Did you try using a VPN that probably changes the route and works better?

You might try a VPN provider, whether this allows to overcome your current problems.

By the way - the screenshots are hard to read because your terminal window was too wide, hence the relation between server and what happens there is difficult to match

@ITreers
simply there ist no paket loss on your screens.
if a router in the middle would loss pakets - the final destination could never show 0% paketloss.
read the Statement from a developer of such tools
https://www.pingman.com/kb/5
The important thing to remember is that the final destination is what REALLY matters. If the final hop is showing zero packet loss and acceptable latency, there isn't a problem. All issues in hops before that become null and void.

This is no tracert via Deutsche Telekom connection (its missing all DTAG hops). Do you have any VPN active?
my route is completeley differnt to yours.
Also you have >5ms to your gateway. Are you using WiFi or powerline ? Then please try with direct LAN cable.#
Hops on Routes are not for answering ICMP packages. Especially tier 3 carrier (like twelve99 in your case), has to transport data and has no prio in answering echo packages. Also this is beyond DTAG network and responisble.
Important notice: please delete your tracert screenshot as your phone number is shown in the background (very dark).

Hey there @ITreers,
as few users already pointed out, I do have my reservations on acknowledging paket loss in our infrastructure. I'm terribly sorry, but if something beyond our reach is happening to your connection, I'm afraid our capabilities are limited in being able to fix that.
Kind regards
^Christian
