The TAE socket was probably simply cut off by the previous tenant.
A new one must be installed in any case.
Telekom will assume that a TAE socket exists in your flat and must be informed that a new one needs to be installed.
Please fill in your profile, then I can forward it to the team and you can clarify the problem during a phone call.

The technician was very kind and respectful. He called before coming and arrived punctually. He was kind enough to switch to English when he saw me struggling with my limited German.
