How do I configure D-Link DSL-3890 modem router for Magenta M Zuhause internet access
vor 5 Jahren
I cannot connect my D-link DSL-3890 modem router to the internet via my Magenta M zuhause contract. What settings (Vlan ID, WAN etc) do I need to configure in the router for setup and connection?
Thanks

You need to configure a PPPoE connection on VLAN7. Username and password should be ignored by the network, unless you either deliberately activated username/password checking in the customer center, or if you happen to be on a very old system (of which I am not even sure if they still exist).
Things may get a little more complicated in case you intend to use MagentaTV (Telekom's IPTV service). Do you?

With your "up to 50 Mbit/s" Magenta Zuhause M plan, and the associated VDSL2 Vectoring technology, Annex-J should not be an issue for you. Annex-J is only used in the context of ADSL2+ lines, which only offer speeds below 16 Mbit/s.
However, I don't know what else to try, my guess is now that your router is either broken or incompatible. Even if it supports all required standards, being a product for the AU/NZ market, it has probably never been tested against the DT network. Who knows what issues there may be...?
So, as sad as it may be, I guess it's time for a new router...

Followed up with Dlink German support. They told me that in Australia all VLan IDs up to 10 are blocked so the router will not work in Germany with Telekom (vlan7). They cannot do anything further.

That was my second best guess I had right from the beginning, as this router has never been marketed in Germany.

MagentaZuhause M meanwhile normally runs using Vectoring.
Not sure whether you D-Link supports Vectoring - at least the data sheet I have found does not mention it.
(however normally that should not prevent the D-Link to establish a bad "fallback" connection)
(Looks like the device is intended for the AU / NZ region - possibly this affects compatibility with Telekom)
