How do I configure D-Link DSL-3890 modem router for Magenta M Zuhause internet access
vor 5 Jahren
I cannot connect my D-link DSL-3890 modem router to the internet via my Magenta M zuhause contract. What settings (Vlan ID, WAN etc) do I need to configure in the router for setup and connection?
Thanks

You need to configure a PPPoE connection on VLAN7. Username and password should be ignored by the network, unless you either deliberately activated username/password checking in the customer center, or if you happen to be on a very old system (of which I am not even sure if they still exist).
Things may get a little more complicated in case you intend to use MagentaTV (Telekom's IPTV service). Do you?

In case you really need to put in a username and password, the PPPoE username needs to be puzzled together from the "Anschlusskennung" and the "Zugangsnummer". Don't ask me why, probably "historical reasons".
Anschlusskennung"+"Zugangsnummer"+" 0001"+"@t-online.de
(no spaces, no quotes, no '+' characters, just make a long string consisting of the anschlusskennung, the zugangsnummer, 001 and @t-online.de)
Aside from that, does the router have DSL diagnostics function? Can you check if the DSL modem managed to get synchronized with the Telekom-side modem at all? DSL sync is independent from any PPPoE or VLAN configuration issues and must work noch matter how the router is configured. If no DSL sync is achieved, then there must be a problem with the wiring (DT's or your own) or the DSL modem is not compatible with the Deutsche Telekom network.

I tried this set-up configuration for 3785. ftp://ftp.dlink.de/dsl/dsl-3785/documentation/DSL-3785_howto_reva_VDSLInternetzugang_de.pdf
My modem router has G.Vector which I left on. Still no internet. I have diagnostics and did a ping test which was fine. How do I check Telekom synchronisation?

How do I check Telekom synchronisation?Have a look at page 23 in the user manual for the DSL-3890, what does it show under "line state" and what are the numbers in the "data rate" field (if any)?

MagentaZuhause M meanwhile normally runs using Vectoring.
Not sure whether you D-Link supports Vectoring - at least the data sheet I have found does not mention it.
(however normally that should not prevent the D-Link to establish a bad "fallback" connection)
(Looks like the device is intended for the AU / NZ region - possibly this affects compatibility with Telekom)
